Creative technocrats from rural Maharashtra
Katgara Polytechnic Institute, Bordi was established in the decade leading towards the centenary of the Gokhale Education Society. The vision behind it is to create creative and dedicated technocrats from the rural and tribal areas of Palghar, Dahanu, Jawhar and Gujarat State.
The Gokhale Education Society has been a leading light in higher education for over a century — offering education from KG to Ph.D. across conventional, professional, medical and paramedical domains — fortunate to receive leadership of great visionaries like Prin. T. A. Kulkarni, Acharya Bhise and Chitre Guruji, and in recent years international educationists like Sir Dr. M. S. Gosavi and Prin. S. B. Pandit.
The institute has shown remarkable progress in a short period by creating high quality standards — and more importantly, by empowering students from weaker and under-privileged sections of society.
Polytechnic education will be super important in the future. As our country emerges among the world's top economies, we will need lakhs of skilled hands — plus new-age capabilities in AI, machine learning, robotics and big-data management, built through hands-on internships and field work. Our teachers keep learning too, so students always receive the latest knowledge. With the National Education Policy 2020, I am confident Katgara Polytechnic is ready for whatever comes our way.
